Dr Spyridon Bakas is a computational researcher at the Center for Biomedical Image Computing and Analytics (CBICA) of the University of Pennsylvania. He received a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in ‘Computer Science’, an M.Sc. degree in ‘Vision, Imaging and Virtual Environments’, and a Ph.D. degree in ‘Medical Image Computing and Analysis’. His research is focused on the development and application of computational algorithms in oncological imaging, towards improving the assessment, quantification and diagnosis of cancer in the current clinical practice, hence contributing towards the concept of personalized/precision medicine.
